Permits Required All Work
Permits are required for demolition, structural repairs, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and more. This ensures your rebuilding meets current codes and floodplain regulations and protects the homeowner from potential liability relating to unlicensed and uninsured contractors.
By Flood Plain Ordinance, any repair of a structure located in the flood plain is required to
obtain a Flood Plain Development Application before the start of any
remodeling/rebuilding. An application is available at:
-
City of San Saba (for City residents): City Hall or online at www.sansabatexas.com
-
San Saba County (for County residents outside of city limits): County Courthouse,
suite 111, or online at www.co.san-saba.tx.us
Both applications are also available online at: www.sansabastrong.com/documents
The City of San Saba is waiving ALL permit FEES for homeowners affected by the recent floods.

Build Safer & Smarter
Use this opportunity to elevate, floodproof, or mitigate your home to reduce future risk and possibly lower your flood insurance premiums.
Skipping permits can lead to fines, stop-work orders, or insurance issues later.

Home Inspections
A Damage Assessment will be PROVIDED FOR YOU.
A Building Inspector will determine if your home is “substantially damaged.” This affects how you can rebuild and what flood protection measures are required. Substantially damaged is defined by FEMA as “a building that has incurred damage of any origin whereby the cost of restoring the building to its before damaged condition would equal or exceed 50% of the market value of the building before the damage occurred.”
